Nigerian Journal of Contemporary Psychologists (NJCP) is published by the Nigerian Contemporary Psychologists of the Department of Psychology, Imo State University, Owerri. The NJCP is interested in original contributions to the body of scientific knowledge in all fields of Psychology and allied social sciences disciplines. Empirically based research articles, theoretical papers with sufficient relationship to empirical data, short communication, book reviews, brief reports, and commentaries are considered for publication.

Research Paper Publishing Policy

NJCP publishes Research Articles, Case Studies, Review Articles, Reports etc., written in English from interested scholars and researchers in the academic community, industry and other establishments. All manuscripts received will be “double blind” peer-reviewed. Papers those found publishable will eventually be considered for publication. The paper must be an original work of the author(s) that has not been published nor is undergoing review elsewhere.

Publication Frequency

The NJCP is published twice annually. Journal items are published collectively as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party without a written request of the contributor.

PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

  1. Papers should be written in English.
  2. Sexist language should be avoided.
  3. Abstracts should not be more than 200 words.
  4. Title page should include; the title, Author(s) name(s), affiliations and contact details.
  5. Tables and figures should be very concise for effective comprehension and communication.
  6. References: Adhere to APA style including current online referencing where necessary.
  7. Bibliography accuracy is the full responsibility of the author(s).
  8. Intending contributors can forward more than one article on different issues.
  9. Two (2) hardcopies of the manuscript can be submitted to the Sub-Editor or an electronic copy should be sent to njcp011@gmail.com.
  10. There is a manuscript submission charge of N5, 000 (Five Thousand Naira) or its equivalent in USD that must be paid upon submission of manuscript. Manuscript of authors who fail to pay the manuscript submission charge will not be assessed.
    Note: Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish lengthy quotations, illustrations etc for which they do not own a copyright.

    ASSESSMENT OF MANUSCRIPTS

    All manuscript received by the editorial committee shall be sent for independent assessment/peer review. Results of such assessment will be communicated to authors as appropriate. Papers are accepted with the clear understanding that no substantial part has or will be published elsewhere and that they remain the copyright of the Nigerian Journal Contemporary Psychologists (NJCP).

    PUBLICATION OF ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPTS

    The journal requires authors of accepted manuscripts to pay a publication fee of N20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) or its USD equivalent to cover the expenses of publication. Off-print copies are not provided by the journal, unless authors make a special request. In such cases, authors will be responsible for all costs of production and mailing.
